Horton International Completes Search for Ontario Systems

May 26, 2009. Ontario Systems recently appointed Jan Johnson as Chief People Officer. Ms. Johnson brings an extensive background in Human Resources in a variety of industries. Most recently, she was Vice President, Human Resources at Bernick’s in Waite Park, MN, a privately-held mid-sized beverage and vending company. Prior to joining Bernick’s, she served as Vice President, Human Resources for Zomax Inc, a $200 million publicly-held media company. Ms. Johnson started her career at IBM. During her 16 year tenure, she advanced through a series of rotational assignments, culminating in her selection to lead the Human Resource function for the $600 million IBM- Toshiba joint-venture, Dominion Semiconductor.

May 22, 2009. Orexigen Therapeutics recently appointed Michael C. Scaife, Ph.D. as Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Product Development, Contrave Program.

Prior to joining Orexigen, Dr. Scaife was Principal of MChS Consultancy Inc., a leading pharmaceutical development services agency. He also served as Senior Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety, Drug Information Services, Compliance and Quality Operations at Chiron Biopharma. In addition, Dr. Scaife held the position of Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs for Nektar Therapeutics, Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs for Elan Pharmaceuticals, and various regulatory and clinical development positions for Novartis Pharma. Dr. Scaife began his career as the Regulatory and Medical Affairs Manager at Johnson & Johnson Medical Ltd., UK.

Horton International Completes Search for Pride Mobility Products

May 22, 2009. Pride Mobility Products recently made two senior level appointments. Walt Niziolek was named Vice President, Global Manufacturing and John Blakensop as Vice President, Quality.

Mr. Niziolek was formerly the Vice President, Operations at Haulmark Industries and Mr. Blakensop was formerly Senior Director, Quality Systems at JGL Industries

Pride Mobility Products makes motorized wheelchairs and scooters for elderly and disabled users. Its electric wheelchairs go by the names Jazzy, Jet, and Quantum Rehab, and scooters are sold under the Pride and Go-Go brands. Pride Mobility's Silver Star division makes automobile lifts, used to transfer a chair or scooter into the car. Horton International and International Search Group announce merger

Florence, April 25, 2009. Horton Group International Limited (HGIL) and International Search Group (ISG) announced today that they have agreed to merge the two groups. The formal Agreement to merge the two firms was signed at the Horton International Global Meeting in Florence.

Bringing together the two organizations will bring significant benefits to clients of both groups.

The merger will provide a substantially expanded presence in Germany, where ifp – the German partner and founder of the ISG – is one of the biggest and longest established consultancies in the country. ifp is not only a local leader in executive search, but also provides extensive management consulting and diagnostics services and has a unique psychology-based background and approach. Furthermore, partners in Switzerland and Turkey plus coverage in Eastern Europe and an additional presence in the UK and Australia will enhance the capacity of Horton International to service clients in these areas.

At the same time, the well established and extensive offices of Horton International partners across Europe, Scandinavia and Russia, together with the well developed presence outside of Europe, particularly in the Americas and Asia Pacific regions, means that clients of ISG will be able to take advantage of what is one of the most comprehensive executive search organizations in the world today.

During a transition period, all companies in the combined businesses will operate as members of Horton International Search Group although Partners in both groups will continue to trade domestically under their current names. Taking advantage of the established HGIL structure, the combined group will be managed by the elected Board of Directors of Horton International strengthened by the addition of a representative of ISG who will join the Board for the two year transition period.

Bob Nesbit Joins Horton International

Tony Brown Joins Horton International

September 2,2008.West Hartford, CT – Horton International, LLC today announced that Tony Brown has joined as Managing Director in the firm’s New York City office and will be a major contributor to the firm’s rapidly expanding Financial Services practice.

Prior to his association with Horton International, LLC, Tony had in depth experience with several other major retained executive search firms involving international executive recruiting. Tony has more than 20 years of experience in global markets, executive search and management consulting.

Most recently Tony served in a leadership capacity with a boutique executive search firm. Prior to this he was a Senior Managing Director and the Global Head of Staffing at Bear Stearns, where he was responsible for professional and campus recruiting as well as internal executive search. Tony joined Bear Stearns from the search industry and had been a Principal at Egon Zehnder International.

Horton International Opens Two US Offices

August 16, 2006, West Hartford, CT. Horton International, LLC today announced that they have opened new offices in Washington, DC and Newport, Rhode Island.

The Washington, DC Region Office will be lead by Managing Director Frank Sharp, a veteran of the firm. Frank established the Zurich, Switzerland office of Horton International in 1994. For eleven years in Europe, he helped international companies to develop their leaders, build effective teams, recruit strategic talent, and implement successful M&A transactions.

Frank’s global human resources career began at Exxon Corporation in the United States, moving on to leading human resource positions at Exxon subsidiaries in Latin America and the Asia Pacific. Later, Frank filled the senior human resources leadership role in ABB’s Power Generation and Lummus Global businesses.

Gary Lineberry will serve as Managing Director of the firm’s new office in Newport, RI. He is involved in senior level executive search engagements in the Global Financial Services Practice, with a specialization in Insurance and Pension Investment Management. Prior to joining Horton International, Gary spent more than 20 years in senior management positions in the Financial Services industry. November 7, 2005, West Hartford, CT. Horton International, LLC announced today that the firm has opened an office in New York City and that Terry McCarthy has joined as a Managing Director.

Prior to joining Horton International, Terry served as a Managing Director with Cromwell Partners, a retained search firm. Earlier in his career he was a Senior Managing Director at DHR International, where he was responsible for developing and managing the global financial services practice. Terry also served as a Managing Partner (US) with PA International Management Consultants and Sullivan & Co. (now a part of Heidrick & Struggles), focusing on global investment banks and industrial, telecom and media conglomerates. He has been extensively involved in strategic searches for various global investment banks, media and entertainment firms and industrial conglomerates.

Terry began his business career at the Industrial Chemicals group of W.R. Grace. He later joined the Philip Morris Corporation in its International Product Marketing division. Terry was subsequently recruited to ITT's Telecom group as President and Equity Partner of a newly formed spin-off firm. Later he served as an Executive Vice President of Marketing for United Jersey Bancorp, the 8th largest U.S. Commercial Bank at the time. Terry has a B.A. in History with high honors from Gannon College and an M.A. in International Affairs from New York University.

Horton International's European Partners Meet In Milan

October 12, 2004, Milan. Horton International held its bi-annual European Partner's meeting in Milan with additional representation from the firm's Americas and Asia-Pacific Regional coordinators. Horton International is a global executive search firm with offices in 27 countries providing retained search and management consulting services in-country, cross border and worldwide.

The focus of the meeting was the firm's Vision 2007- the result of an internal task force constituted earlier this year to assess the expectations of the global partners relative to revenue growth, geographic expansion and governance.

Frank Sharp, Managing Partner of the firm's office in Zurich and Task Force Leader, presented the results of the task force's efforts to the Chairman, Executive Committee and the European Partners. With unanimous endorsement of the proposed Vision 2007, the task force was given the mandate to create definitive strategic plans for final approval by the entire organization at the firm's Global Partners meeting to be held in Shanghai in May of 2005.

Horton International Opens Mexico City Office

March 23, 2004, Mexico City. One of the top global retained executive firms, Horton International, has opened its third Latin American office with the launch of a Mexico City office. Horton International entered Latin America 8 years earlier when it opened an office in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The new office is headed by Guillermo Cepeda, who was recently appointed Managing Partner and Country Manager. Mr. Cepeda will oversee searches throughout Mexico. He was previously a managing partner at eVision Partners, a private venture capital group focusing in Latin America, founder of DeRemate.com, the leading on-line consumer-to-consumer trading platform in Latin America, Sr. Manager Latin America for Siebel Systems among other senior managerial positions in Mexican companies in the Manufacturing and Hospitality industry sectors. Mr. Cepeda has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
