Larry C. Brown

Larry C. BrownLarry is a Managing Partner of Horton International LLC and is headquartered in the firm's West Hartford, CT office. Larry has been active in executive search since 1994. His search experience has focused on a variety of senior level assignments across a broad range of functional disciplines in financial services, insurance and manufacturing companies.

Before joining the firm, he was President of PDS Worldwide, a national distribution and fulfillment company. Prior to that position he served in a variety of human resources roles at United Technologies Corporation, including the Corporate Headquarters, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, and Otis Elevator's Latin American Operations. Larry served in the U.S. Army for six years and attained the rank of Captain.

Larry has an MBA from the University of Hartford, a MA in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas, and a BA in International Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a Past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Southwest New England, former President of the Connecticut Council for the Advancement of Diversity, Chair of the International Business Council of the MetroHartford Alliance, a Board member of the World Affairs Council and an alumnus of Leadership Greater Hartford.

Robert J. Gilchrist

Robert J. GilchristBob is a Managing Partner of Horton International LLC, and leads the firm's Industrial Practice in the US and is headquartered in the firm's West Hartford, CT office.

Bob and his team have completed a long list of senior level searches for Fortune 50 companies as well as for small, high technology, start-up businesses. Bob has developed an extensive search experience base with a broad range of industries that understand the true value of leadership. His assignments have included a number of President and CEO positions, along with Vice President and Director level positions across a broad range of functional disciplines, including Sales and Marketing, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain Management and Human Resources.

Bob has 30 years of experience in the business of developing, manufacturing, and marketing of technology-based products and services since receiving his BSME. His career includes: engineering, marketing and senior management positions with Bendix (AlliedSignal), Kaman Corporation and Ensign Bickford Industries.

Bob earned his undergraduate engineering degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology and did graduate study at the University of Hartford, Barney School of Business. Bob has served as a non-executive board member and chairman of the compensation committee of a publicly held manufacturing company in Connecticut. He is a member of the Association of Manufacturing Excellence and currently leads a team of search professionals, each with over 20 years of experience in business and industry.

Maureen Alphonse-Charles

Maureen Alphonse-CharlesMaureen Alphonse-Charles, Managing Director of Horton International, LLC, is located in the firm’s Boston, MA office. She is responsible for expanding the firm’s “Not-For- Profit” and “Financial Services” practices.

Prior to her association with Horton International, LLC, Maureen had in depth and wide experience with several other major retained executive search firms involving international executive recruiting for “Asset Management” and “Diversity Practices” in London, Paris, New York and Boston.

She is an active participant in many civic, business and community affairs, having been honored by the Boston Junior Chamber of Commerce as one of the ten most outstanding young leaders in Boston and nominated twice in Boston’s Women’s Business Journal as one of the top ten recruitment experts in Boston. She currently serves as an overseer at WGBH and the New England Conservatory of Music. Maureen also serves as Chair of the Nominating Committee for the Boston Center for Community & Justice. She served as President of the “LeadBoston Community Board” and is on the board of the Bessie Tartt Wilson Children’s Foundation. Her other major community, civic and educational activities have included Tufts Alumni Association, Boston University School of Management, The Epiphany School, and the National Association of Securities Professionals, (NASP). Maureen is a member of The Boston Club.

Maureen holds a B.A., from Boston University (Magna Cum Laude) and an M.A.L.D. from Tufts University Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and is therefore highly qualified in matters legal as they pertain to her recruitment assignments.

Maureen’s broad interests and experience in both business and civic affairs, and her educational background in financial as well as legal matters, provide our clients with excellent executive search capabilities.

James L. Bond

Jim Bond is Managing Director of Horton International, LLC and is located in the firm's US headquarters in West Hartford, Connecticut. He has been involved in search since 1978. For much of that time, his main focus has been in the Information Technology field, assisting his clients in filling positions ranging from C- through Director levels. He also has substantial generalist search experience, managing and executing search for executive and senior management positions in such functional verticals as sales and marketing, purchasing, call center, brokerage operations, as well as senior level positions in life and health underwriting. The industries he has served range from life and property-casualty insurance, managed care, life sciences and manufacturing to financial, business and professional services firms, including Fortune 100 to start-up in size.

Prior to joining Horton International, Jim was Senior Vice President and Director of the Information Technology search practice for People Management Northeast, Inc., a management consulting company specializing in retained executive search and consulting services. He also spent nine years with an international search firm where he consistently ranked in the top five percent of performers in their worldwide staff and was named to the President's Club. Previously, Jim was part of the management team of Data Base Management, Inc., (now CGI-AMS) a high-tech consulting services firm where his responsibilities included business development, recruitment of professional staff, and account management.

Jim has an M.A. in Government and International Relations from the University of Notre Dame and a B.A. in Political Science from St. Anselm College. He has served on the Technology Committee of the Greater Hartford Chamber of Commerce as well as on the Selection Committee for the Connecticut Forum. He is an active member of the Society for Information Management, where he serves on the board of directors, and is active on the local, regional and national levels.

Tony Brown

Tony Brown, Managing Director of Horton International, LLC, is located in the firm’s New York office. Tony has extensive experience in the Financial Services sector and is responsible for the growth of that practice.

Prior to his association with Horton International, LLC, Tony had in depth experience with several other major retained executive search firms involving international executive recruiting. Tony has more than 20 years of experience in global markets, executive search and management consulting.

Most recently Tony served in a leadership capacity with a boutique executive search firm. Prior to this he was a Senior Managing Director and the Global Head of Staffing at Bear Stearns, where he was responsible for professional and campus recruiting as well as internal executive search. Tony joined Bear Stearns from the search industry and had been a Principal at Egon Zehnder International.

Tony joined executive search from Bankers Trust Company, where he was a Managing Director and head of an internal consulting group. Tony began his consulting career in the Financial Institutions Practice at McKinsey & Company, where he was an Engagement Manager.

Tony holds a BA in Engineering and Applied Sciences from Harvard University and an MBA from Stanford Business School.

Tony’s role as a leader extends into larger professional and civic communities. He serves as a Board Member of the Academy of Finance in New York, the New York Chapter of the March of Dimes and the Abyssinnian Development Corporation. Tony is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the Macaulay Honors College in New York.

Gary E. Lineberry

Gary Lineberry is a Managing Director of Horton International, and is located at the firm’s office in Boston, MA. He is involved in senior level executive search engagements in the Global Financial Services Practice, with a specialization in Insurance and Pension Investment Management.

Prior to joining Horton International, Gary spent more than 20 years in senior management positions in the Financial Services industry. He has extensive experience in business strategy and the development of successful organizations. His expertise includes distribution, marketing, product development, strategic partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions, in addition to executive selection.

Before joining Horton International, Gary was a Director with Spectrem Group, providing strategic consulting and M&A services to major financial organizations active in the investment management, retirement and wealth management sectors.

Prior to Spectrem Group, Gary was Senior Vice President at AXA Financial, responsible for Institutional Retirement Products. Before his role at AXA, he was Senior Vice President responsible for MetLife's defined contribution business and CEO of Benefit Services Corporation.

Gary has served on the Boards of MetLife Trust Company, MetLife Securities, Benefit Services Corporation, The Association of Investment Sales Executives, and the National Defined Contribution Council. He has also served as Chairman of the LIMRA Group Pension Marketing Committee. He has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences addressing investment, retirement and wealth management issues.

He received a BA in Economics from Allegheny College and has pursued graduate studies in Finance at Boston University. He serves as Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Women’s Resource Center for Newport and Bristol counties in Rhode Island.

Terry McCarthy

Terry McCarthyTerry McCarthy is a Managing Director of Horton International and serves a broad range of domestic and global clients from Horton International's New York City office. He has been extensively involved in strategic searches for various global investment banks and industrial conglomerates, placing senior-level executives around the world.

Terry began his business career at W.R. Grace and he later joined the Philip Morris Corporation in its International Marketing division, assuming senior management marketing roles in various European and Asian operations. Terry was subsequently recruited to ITT's Telecom Group as President and Equity Partner of a newly formed spin-off. After the successful sale of the Telecom Group to a European Telecom giant, Terry served for over five years as an Executive Vice President for United Jersey Bank (Summit Bank), heading up numerous banking subsidiaries.

Terry later joined Citibank in New York in a senior-level strategic planning capacity, eventually serving as Global Marketing Head within the institutional bank. He also implemented sales and marketing initiatives for several business units, leading to a role as Partner in Marketing Solutions, a leading tactical marketing and sales consulting group.

Prior to joining Horton International, Terry served as Senior Managing Director and Partner at several other retained search firms, developing and managing their Global Financial Services practices. In addition to his Asset Management and Alternative Investments search experience, Terry has developed a substantial Media/Telecommunications and Consumer Goods Sector Consulting and Search Practice.

Terry received a B.A. in History with high honors from Gannon College. He was nominated for both the Rhodes and Fulbright Fellowships and was a member of the Blue Key Honor Fraternity. He received an M.A. in International Relations - US Diplomacy from New York University and Columbia University.

Patrick T. Murphy

Patrick MurphyPatrick T. Murphy is Managing Director in Horton International’s US headquarters in West Hartford, CT. He focuses on the recruitment of executive positions for financial services and consumer-driven industries in which he spent a 31-year career directing corporate human resources. Patrick’s role with Horton combines his strength for finding talent with the opportunity to lead change and improve results for a variety of organizations.

Most recently, Patrick held the position of Executive Vice President at Webster Financial Corporation, a leading New England bank with over $17 billion in assets. At Webster since 2002, he had overall responsibility for human resources strategy and directed key initiatives in executive selection, talent management, compensation and benefit plan design, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational planning.

Patrick’s prior experience includes executive human resources responsibilities, both domestic and global, for ING (previously Aetna Financial Services), LEGO, Procter & Gamble and Richardson-Vicks. Additionally, he has served on several industry and academic boards, including chairing the School of Business Advisory Board for Oswego State University, the Human Resource Planning Society of Western New England, the Connecticut Council for the Advancement of Diversity, Western New England College and Leadership Greater Hartford. He is also a member of Connecticut Masters Swimming and has won several open swimming events.

Patrick received his BS degree in Business Administration from Oswego State University, attended the Whitman School of Management program at Syracuse University and is a graduate of the management development program at the IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland.

In addition to investing significant time to understand a client company’s culture and competitive strategy, Patrick is a skilled behavioral event interviewer. This technique enables clear differentiation of talent by delving beyond technical acumen to discover the motives, behaviors and traits an individual displays.

Molly A. Robb

Located in West Hartford, Connecticut, Molly Robb is a Managing Director and currently serves as the Head of the Life Sciences Search Practice for Horton International, LLC. She is responsible for running a national practice that focuses on the recruitment of scientific and commercial executives into early and late stage development companies within the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical and Medical Device and Diagnostic sectors.

Prior to building her search practice at Horton International, Molly spent several years within the largest and most respected executive search firms in the world where she was trained in search process methodology, behavioral interviewing techniques and how to identify the criteria essential for effective leadership. Before she moved to the East Coast, Molly spent several years on the West Coast working for search firms such as Heidrick & Struggles, in the Health Care Venture Capital and Private Equity practice and Korn/Ferry International. Over her twelve year career in executive search, Molly has led numerous search projects where she has been successful in placing senior level executives into key technical and commercial leadership positions in support of her client’s product development milestones and new product launches.

Molly earned her B.A. degree from the Journalism School at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a double emphasis in Media and Communications. In addition to her professional career, Molly is a member of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA), a global organization dedicated to leadership development for women in the healthcare industry.

Patricia A. Racz

Pat Racz is Managing Director of Horton International, LLC and is located at the firm’s U.S. headquarters in West Hartford, CT. Her search experience has focused primarily on consumer and industrial products companies for a broad range of national and global clients.

Before joining Horton International, Pat was General Manager of Fine Papers, a division of International Paper, the world’s largest paper company. Pat had full profit and loss responsibility for this $220 million global business with 1,500 employees. Other senior management positions at International Paper included General Manager of xpedx Charlotte, a $50 million paper and packaging distribution business; General Manager of the Interspun® Division, a start-up textile finishing operation; and Consumer & Medical Business Unit Manager for a $145 million global nonwovens business.

Pat’s earlier career included sales, marketing and supply chain management positions with Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble, as well as International Paper. She earned her undergraduate degree from Miami University and her master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati.

Ms. Racz serves on the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Lottery Corporation and is President of the Connecticut Women’s Council. She is also an active member of the World Affairs Council.

Frank V. Sharp

Frank is a Managing Director of Horton International, LLC and is located at the firm's Washington Regional Office in Alexandria, VA.

Frank established the Zurich office of Horton International in 1994. For eleven years in Europe, he helped international companies to develop their leaders, build effective teams, recruit strategic talent, and implement successful M&A transactions. In January, 2006 Frank relocated to Alexandria, Virginia and established the Horton’s Washington Regional Office.

His global human resources career began at Exxon Corporation in the United States, moving on to leading human resource positions at Exxon subsidiaries in Latin America and the Asia Pacific. Later, Frank filled the senior human resources leadership role in ABB’s Power Generation and Lummus Global businesses.

A dual Irish and American citizen, Frank was born and educated in Philadelphia. He completed an MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in economics at St. Joseph’s University. He served as a Director of the European Human Resources Forum, and is a member of the Human Resource Planning Society.

Peter L. Borkoski

Peter is a Senior Associate at Horton International LLC, and is a key player in the firm's Industrial Practice Team and is headquartered in the West Hartford, CT office.

Peter has over 10 years of experience in executive search with significant domestic and global experience with senior level searches, primarily industrial sector clients, which includes Fortune 50 companies as well as small, high technology and start-up businesses.

Prior to joining Horton International, Peter had 25 years of leadership success in both small and large companies. He held leadership positions in the areas of business development, sales, marketing, project management, training, business consulting, coaching, career counseling, outplacement, information systems support and power plant operations. He was also a certified Dale Carnegie instructor.

Peter earned his BS degree in Nuclear Engineering from Columbia University in New York.

Arthur Dickman

Art is a Senior Associate in Horton International's Hartford, CT office and has eight years of executive search experience.

Before joining the firm, he had extensive experience consulting in human resource management and during twenty-five years at United Technologies his senior executive roles included Vice President, Human Resources and Industrial Relations at the Hamilton Standard Division and the Essex Group. In addition, he served as Senior Director, Human Resources for Carrier - European & Transcontinental Operations based in London. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserves.

Art has a BS in Management from St. Peters College and is an ordained Deacon in his church. He is a Trustee Emeritus of Western New England College having served a number of years on the Executive Committee of that college.
